Summary: Jack is tired as Hell of all things unfavourably Destiny related! He invites Daniel on a holiday to L.A to meet up with G Callen & Sam Hanna... Each 'Couple' from each show wishes they really were a Couple!
Jack was worn out, and feeling absolutely fed up with the Destiny... He knew her crew, of course, must be feeling absolutely the same way..!
After The last debacle, which involved the damned Lucian Alliance, Jack was glad to be home, glad he wasn't stuck there as much as the aforementioned crew of the Destiny – And yet, he was – The traitor and everything – It had all happened 'on his watch', so to speak... No so to speak about it really; It was his watch...
He was, partly, happy to be convinced into a few days off... It seemed like he and Daniel ran the whole SGC just lately – Daniel deserved a holiday more than he did – So, when he got an invite to spend time with his old friends Sam Hanna and G Callen in Los Angeles, he, in turn, invited Daniel along... Let someone else remember their duty for a while!
He and Daniel were now sitting in a bar with Sam Hanna & Callen. Perhaps, it was the beer, he pretended, but, unusually regarding 'Destiny' matters, a smile just about crossed Jack's face as he, in the middle of all this, recalled something..! While visiting The Destiny, he had said, 'I know what makes me special..!'... And, he did! It was Daniel – Everything to do with Daniel; The way Daniel made him feel, the way Daniel felt, the times Daniel was happy, smiling, joking – All the good Daniel had achieved; the strength and tenacity of the man... He actually owed Daniel everything!
G Callen took a moment to sneak a look at his friend, Sam, while Jack & Daniel were bantering over on the other side of the table.
G quelled that feeling; the unbidden urge to make tonight one of those nights with his best friend, Sam Hanna. The kind of night where they let it all go because they simply couldn't let it go! God knows, they both needed it!! The release, the reassurance, the comfort, the feeling, the depth of it all, that something that continued Denial and no other partner could ever give them..!
Walking out of the bar later, looking for a cab; Jack was so close to Daniel that he could reach out and hold his hand; if only he had that freedom. They passed one of those Amberish street-lamps, and Jack wanted nothing more than to press Daniel against the pole, and bathe him in the liquid light of it all..! He knew Daniel would be up for it; he knew, and he was sick of the fact that there was not a hell of a lot either of them could do about it – He didn't want to live by those shitty rules anymore!!!
G could feel need radiating off Sam Hanna. He knew that need, that emanating feeling intimately himself... And he knew that tonight might be just the kind of night, a little later on, that they could, and would, both go for it...
