Summary: After Daniel's Ascension, or 'death', Jack gets a message from Daniel, and from their colleagues. From there, he knows he somehow must move forward...
Info: The Quote is from Hamlet - Literally, from Hamlet to his friend, Horatio.
Jack looked through all the books before he packed them away, thinking how Daniel would have liked him to do so while he was still there to see it. He felt a tear swelling up inside and angrily wiped one of his eyes, the one that betrayed him, like he felt he had betrayed Daniel. He hadn't been there to save Daniel from himself - It was history repeating itself, but instead of it being Charlie who paid the price, or one of his Air-Force buddies, it was Daniel. The book Jack was flicking through fell open at a page, and there was one line that spoke to Jack, in Daniel's voice, in a memory. 'There are more things in Heaven and Earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio.' Daniel had said that to Jack once to demonstrate a point. Was Daniel somehow reminding Jack that no matter how far away he was, he wasn't really dead? With that, Jack's phone went. It was General Hammond.
"How are you, Jack?" George asked.
"Trying to remember that there are more things in Heaven and Earth than even I can dream of, sir, and not feel haunted by it. But if he wants to haunt me, I don't blame him, and I might even welcome it!"
"Take your time, Jack. It's okay to feel, y'know..."
"Did Janet tell you that, sir?" Jack paused. "I'm sorry."
"Do you need any time off?" George asked.
"I don't know. I never seem to be there for those I love wherever I am." Jack answered.
