Summary: Daniel discovers that he's pregnant, with Jack's child, of course... What will that mean for everyone's future??
"Seems like that possibility is indeed possible..." Mohinder said.
Daniel went understandably pale.
Jack steadied him as he sat up.
"So, I am??" Daniel asked. "How?"
"It would appear that you have a power." Mohinder mentioned.
"To turn myself into a woman!?" Daniel asked incredulously.
"No. Not entirely!" Mohinder quickly stated. "But your body is changing..."
"Oh, God!" Daniel answered.
"I'm gonna find Oma DeSala and have a few words with her!" Jack spoke up.
"She told us this would happen, Jack!" Daniel said.
"She did... Are we supposed to have faith? We're not Mary and Joseph..!" Jack almost shouted.
"Looks like we're going to be asked to be!" Daniel said, sweating. "What are we going to tell them?" Daniel spoke of his and Jack's colleagues.
"What is this going to mean, for all of us?" Matt pondered.
"We're not going to be trusted, on either side!" Daniel fretted.
"I'm sorry, Daniel..." Jack told him.
Daniel looked to Jack quizzically.
"We should have..." Jack trailed off, shy. "We shouldn't have..."
Daniel comprehended. "We both wanted to. Really wanted to, maybe that's all part of it..."
"What should we do now?" Jack asked Mohinder and Matt.
"I don't know..." Mohinder answered honestly. "I'm not sure who to tell you who to affiliate yourselves with; I've made enough mistakes myself lately."
"Thanks for your honesty!" Jack said, mostly genuine.
"Our colleagues won't like the thought of another organisation muscling in anyway..." Daniel said honestly.
"The people we know are likely to feel the same way!" Matt answered.
"We can't do this alone!" Daniel mused.
Jack rubbed Daniel's back, trying to comfort him.
"I'll help all of you..." Mohinder replied.
"Me, too." Matt seconded.
"Will the child be like me?" Daniel asked.
"There is that possibility. The abilities often run in family groups..." Mohinder answered carefully.
Daniel fought a sudden tear. He wiped it impatiently. Life in children's homes had taught him not to cry, and every time he did, part of him felt ashamed. Now, more than ever, even if he could explain it away with female hormones.
"There are many other abilities out there. Self-healing, that is known to lead to an almost indestructible, and very long life... And, the boy who could fly is no longer just a film, it seems."
Jack's heart flipped silently, because, of course, Charlie had died so young.
"I have heard of Immortals, more Legend than anything, but I suppose they could be Urban Myths." Daniel said. "And you don't have to tell us to keep anything you say quiet."
"Same goes for anything you say to us..." Mohinder answered. "But it's alright. Nathan's speech opened up a little more of our world. I'm sure you know that." Mohinder thought about how finding more of those Immortals Daniel mentioned, could mean saving Nathan Petrelli's life. Then, he thought about how the blood of Claire Bennett, Nathan's daughter, saved her adoptive father, Noah. And, he felt another pang of guilt, right or wrong, whichever, for the decision he made to shoot Noah Bennett.
"And I'm sure you guys, real super heroes, could find out what we do for a living, if some of you haven't already..! Can't keep any secrets from you anyway, eh, Matt?" Jack turned to the mind-reading policeman.
"Sorry..." Matt smiled kindly.
Jack patted him on the shoulder. "It's okay, buddy... Looks like we might all be part of the same destiny anyway!"
