Summary: Daniel is hurt by Jack's betrayal - But, after some time, Jack mans up, and makes Daniel a promise he can keep this time
"I can't believe I've been worrying myself so much about what Cam and I did, when you've been so busy screwing Sam!!" Daniel yelled. With that, he opened the door, and chucked Jack out of his house...
... That was the end of his and Jack's relationship...
Yet months later, it hadn't worked out with Cam, and as Daniel opened the door, seeing Jack on the doorstep, he was still angry, but didn't know if he could hold out, and stop the rollercoaster ride that was their relationship...
"Hi, Daniel..." Jack started.
"What do you want, Jack?" Daniel asked.
"You." Jack answered succinctly. "It's over between Sam and I..."
"Heard both those before..." Daniel replied wearily, hanging on to the doorframe for support.
"I mean it this time..." Jack stated honestly.
"Do you?" Daniel queried shortly. "It never worked out that way before..."
"Because I couldn't come to terms with my sexuality..." Jack answered simply.
"Tell me something I don't know..!!?" Daniel fumed.
"You don't have to go looking for the love and support I should have given you anywhere else now, Daniel..." Jack told him.
"Yeah, right..! You've just heard about me and Cam through the grapevine at work, that's all this is..!" Daniel answered.
"No. It isn't." Jack answered with confidence and knowledge.
"Jack, I..." Daniel's voice trailed off.
"Can I get past the doorstep?" Jack wondered aloud, and requested calmly.
Daniel stood there for indeterminable minutes, until he hit the doorframe with his palm, in frustration, and anger with himself... Then, he stepped back, allowing Jack into his home, and into his life again, he knew it...
"I'm over it all, Daniel... Everything, except you..." He told him plainly.
Daniel laughed.
"I'll prove it to you..." Jack said, staring into Daniel's eyes, opposite him in the hallway. "I will..." He stepped forward, caressing the back of Daniel's neck, and pulling him, gently, willingly into his arms... "I'll prove it to you..." He repeated into Daniel's ear, as he held him, and, finally, let Daniel lean on him, while he himself lent on the wall, flooded with relief... "I love you..." He truthfully told Daniel...
