Summary: It's Daniel's first Christmas as a 'Mum', and Jack's first Christmas with his second son
Info: A sequel was once rquested to More Reason Than Ever... This is for the requester who got in touch quite a while ago! I hope you find this story! Sorry it's late!!
Daniel kept looking into his eyes, wondering what his future was. Would he be a hero? Would he be expected to be a hero? Could he ever become a villain? What would become of this child whom The Ancients decreed would be born; his son whom The Ancients made possible?? Was he a Messiah? He has certainly been born at the right time of year, that fact was inescapable, and had made some big wigs from the Stargate Program very, very nervous... It was a wonder that the child and his parents had been allowed home for a few days – Mind you, Daniel, and Jack, both knew they were always being watched somehow or other...
Daniel tried not to be overcome, and to have faith. Not in false gods, but in the one whom may have given Jack and Daniel their son as the Christmas gift he so definitely was... The One whom Daniel had always tried to still love and trust in from the day his parents had died...
Daniel's Maternal Instinct was just beginning to get into its stride. He had never been built to be a mother obviously, but a mother he obviously was now... It had changed his body and his mind, at least partially (he fought to make sure he still managed to maintain some sense of the Daniel Jackson he was before!) and as well as often thinking what is mother, father, and grandfather, Nick, would all make of him as he hoped they were looking down to him now; Daniel, sometimes, was so afraid that those changes were irrevocable; that those same changes would help Jack to decide that he wanted to go back to having a woman, but a real one... Or that he would have to leave Daniel, because now that he, Jack, had come out, and thus, come to terms with his homosexuality, he didn't want to shove it back into this odd shape surprise gift bearing box, a box named Daniel, and to settle for him... But Daniel tried not to cry, as he sat in the armchair of his and Jack's home, feeding their son, and being surrounded by the Christmas Lights that Jack had found a reason to bring into use again... That reason being their wonderful son, their gift from God, this Christmas...
Jack walked into the room, and gently placed his hands briefly on Daniel's shoulders, as he leant over the back of the sofa to kiss him... "Hi, you two..." He said, smiling down at his baby boy, Calum-Jackson ( the first meaning 'Dove', and the second, Daniel's surname, meaning 'Jack's Son', a name that finally became appropriate between him and Daniel) O'Neill, and moving to let the infant's tiny fingers wrap around his index finger.
Daniel smelt Jack's cologne as Jack, the man he so loved, moved near him. He caught the tears in his throat, but Jack was too observant, of course... He sensed those tears, and turned to look at Daniel...
"I love you..." He said, and kissed his dear Daniel on the lips.
The End
