Summary: Helen Magnus thinks about her day while laying in bed with her sleeping partner, Janet Frasier

Helen Magnus awoke, strangely aware that it was another odd new day, but then, what was new about that exactly? Beside her, in their bed, was her partner, Janet Frasier. They would marry, now that such things were possible, were it not for the Military's archaic laws...

Helen had first worked for the SGC when she was called in to help save the life of her step-daughter, Cassie, whose genetics had been well and truly messed with by the Goa'uld, Nirrti. Helen and Janet kept in touch, and, with time, as Helen became more and more of a regular face at the SGC, she and Janet became a couple, and their daughters became like sisters. The SGC once helped save the life of Helen's choice for the father of Ashley her child, long-term friend, John Druitt. An entity had entwined with John Druitt, mind and body, driving him mad...He ran wild, or made a good effort of doing so, through time, and the SGC helped Helen and her colleagues, Hiro Nakamura, Henry Foss, brothers Nathan and Peter Petrelli, Kate Freelander, and Torquil Benedict Greenway (far more simply known as T.B.G!) to locate him...

The Petrellis (including aingle parent, Nathan Petrelli's daughter, Claire, and Peter and Nathan's Mom, also a single parent, Angela Petrelli) Hiro, Henry and T.B.G, like Helen, John, and Ashley themselves, were descendants of people like Cassie, whose bloodline and genetics had at one time, been altered by the likes of the Goa'uld. Helen inherited her anomalous blood from her father, Gregory Magnus. Her mother was a relative of Sam Carter's mother, making the two women 'cousins'.

Helen's family was about to expand yet again. Within her, she carried the child to be born from another race's experiment. Members of the SGC once helped to save the entire population of a planet somewhere out there (Helen's cousin, Samantha, could tell her exactly where!)... But later, the SGC found the planet destroyed by its enemies, and its outposts un-manned. Walking into a lab on one of the outpost-moons, they found foetuses in biotech wombs – Six of them. Five ready to be born, who thus were, and now, lived here on Earth, and the sixth, soon to be born, who was transplanted and now, was waiting inside Doctor Helen Magnus, to be born...

It was discovered that the foetuses were the genetic combinations of certain key members of the SGC, who had helped rescue the planet that one time. There were also notes, detailing how the race who called that world home were hoping to integrate the qualities they'd seen that day in their rescuers, into their own society.

The SGC was left reeling for sometime, and those in charge, on the Board; Paul Davis, Harry Maybourne and Kimball Cho of the Airforce, Jenny Sheperton, Leon Vance, and Tom Morrow, of the Marine Core, as well as Tobias Fornell and David Sinclair of the FBI and CIA, Nathan Bridger of the Navy, Teresa Lisbon and Wayne Rigsby of the Army were still arguing the matter... But the children ready to be born were born, and adopted by their parents, whom worked at the SGC. Most notably, those right at the forefront of all things SGC, Jim O'Neill and Doctor Daniel Ballard, adopted their twin son and daughter. Samantha Carter and Doctor Jonas Quinn, originally from Kelowna, now a 'refugee' of that land, whose people, on the whole, had suffered a similar fate to those who had beforehand, created his child, adopted their son. Rodney McKay and John Shepherd adopted their daughter... While Vala Mal Duran and Cam Mitchell, were now a part of one another's lives away from work, as well at during it, for the sake of their daughter.

The child, a boy, whom Helen Magnus, carried safely within her, was a DNA mixture of herself, sharing her regenerative genetics, and all the members of SG1 – Jim O'Neill, Daniel Ballard, Teal'c of Chulak, and Helen's cousin, Samantha Carter, John Shepherd and Rodney McKay... Parenting would likely prove even more interesting than usual, once the child was born! Sometimes, Helen seriously gave thought to asking SGC Commander, two star General George Hammond, to put forward plans for building a crèche!

There were teams whom had not been there that day, and did not, resultingly, have children... Mike Franks' team, SG10, were due into the Infirmary today, for a check up... Helen and Janet, and the other Doctors, would almost all be involved, in investigating and helping to ensure the health of Mike Franks, Caitlin Todd, Paula Cassidy, Colby Granger, and Dominic Vail...

Scheduled after this, was Helen's own appointment with Doctor Charles Kroeger, the psychiatrist, who along with her friend, Will Zimmerman, had assigned to keeping an eye on all those who had been recently become parents in this SGC so unique way!!

After this, she must again check on Sgt. Siles and technician Walter Harriman, after their latest work related injuries.

Then, for lunch, during which Helen hoped to meet with Henry, TBG, Kate, Nathan P, his brother, Peter, Hiro Nakamura and perhaps, his Assistant, Ando Masahashi, who were here today, from Area 51, where they worked under the guiding instruction of Helen's close friend and colleague, Dr. Carolyn Lam's father, Hank Landry, when not at home in The Sanctuary. The Sanctuary was the house Henry, TBG, and co, shared with Helen and her family... Helen wondered if today, she might also see Doctor Carson Beckett's brother, the Marine Biologist, Colin Beckett, his partner, Roddy McKay, and their boss Doctor Kristin Westphalen; Helen had taken an undergrad course in Marine Biology, and, at lunchtimes, when possible, enjoyed sitting with Janet, while they were busily kept informed of all the fascinating latest developments in the field by consulting specialists, Dr Westphalen and her team!

After lunch, there were more checkups to be done – SG11; Navy based team, Jonathan Ford, Ben Krieg, Katherine Hitchcock, and Lonnie Henderson, were due home from a Mission to PXC252, or some planet with a designation something like that... Helen had so much to keep track of these days; Good job she knew her duty well enough, after all these years, to always check the charts in front of her, and keep triplicates of her records!! It certainly seemed to be a water themed day today..! Typical just lately, with a baby constantly sitting on her bladder!

At four, there was another meeting for The Medical Team to go to, which obviously included herself, because the SGC's Forensics Specialist Department, Doctors Gerald Jaxon and Jimmy Palmer, and their colleagues scientists Leland Stottlemeyer, Randall Disher, and Professor brothers, Adrian and Ambrose Monk, along with their respective assistants, Sharona Flemming and Natalie Teeger, each had some information to go over with them...

Then, Helen would check with two of the team nurses, Grace Van Pelt and Lisa Cuddy, and SGC Diagnostic Team, leading expert Craig House, Consulting Doctors, James Wilson, Eric Foreman, Remy Hadley, Australian Doctor and Surgeon Chase Foreman, and India's foremost Doctor of Genetics, Mohinder Suresh, about some of her research, on which they were, consulting (obviously, being Consultants!)....

All of this, of course, would never go quite to schedule – This was the SGC after all!!

For now, she exquisitely enjoyed a few more precious moments, before her baby boy's trampoline, which doubled as her bladder made it absolutely necessary to rise from her almost comfortable position in bed next to Janet. She was unsure of when they would get back here, especially together, again... Soon, at this super-ridiculously early hour, Helen knew, the women's working day would begin...

The End
