Summary: MacGyver and Daniel are colleagues on the SeaQuest DSV, where they are friends with their colleagues, Jethro Gibbs and Flynn Carsen

Closing the door to his quarters on the SeaQuest, Dr Daniel Jackson trembled... It was partly the excitement of what the SeaQuest has just discovered; The Library of Alexandria – It was also because Daniel had always been aware he had E.S.P or the Sci-Factor – Just on some small level – He had inherited it from his mother, and now, he had been asked by the Military to employ that in the diplomatic negotiations that followed the discovery, and to find the leak that the UEO and Navy Brass suspected was on the boat... Daniel hated to remind his fellow crew members that he sometimes had an idea what was going on in their mind – Not all of them knew, but now, they would... And, that made him afraid, for many reasons... His lover MacGyver had fought hard for him in the Briefing, saying about how unfair it all was... And, because those in charge declared it necessary, Mac had had his mind read by a woman named Freya Annice, whom had come aboard when the aforementioned Brass had a crisis of confidence... Mac, of course, passed his test, and it had turned out that the crew was exonerated...
Now, at least, Daniel was somewhat free to enjoy the knowledge afforded everybody by the discoveries of Alexandria... It was like Atlantis all over again, where some of his scientific and archaeological colleagues still worked on restoration... Mac had been there, too, for some time, but he was back home now, with Daniel, on the DSV...
Daniel had just made it to the chair by his desk when Mac (he knew it was him) knocked on the door. "Enter..." Daniel called.
"I'd love to..!" Mac teased as he did so...
Daniel smiled, without saying the words 'I know you would..!' anywhere but in his mind. He and Mac had that kind of connection, as well as the one Mac was on about...
Mac could read the pain in Daniel's mind, and on his face... He knew the fear, the indignation on his and Mac's behalf... He could see Daniel reliving the memories of his deceased parents... During these negotiations, Daniel had been reunited with his one-time father in law, the Libyan representative for all matters pertaining to the discoveries in the Library... Daniel and his father in law were estranged, because Sha're, who had been Daniel's wife, was another person Daniel loved and lost. She had died in a territory skirmish... And, since learning of Daniel's bisexuality, Sha're's father had resented Daniel, convinced his daughter had been used, and was never truly loved... He had become distrustful of Daniel's sci-factor, and was sure that Daniel had been glad when Sha're died... Mac knew Daniel was fearful that his father-in-law's paranoia went beyond that, too, and he couldn't quite let that fear go, even though he and his father in law had begun to understand each other again, through Captain Bridger's dramatic actions during the negotiations waking everyone up a little...
Mac sat beside Daniel, having guided him to sit on the bed. He brushed back the man's hair, caressing his ears, and the side of his face, feeling Daniel's fingers mingle with his, in the other hand, which he had placed gently on Daniel's knee... "We've been invited out for dinner tonight..." Mac mentioned.
Daniel looked up.
"At Jethro and Flynn's place..." Mac spoke of the quarters which their friends Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Dr. Flynn Carsen, one of his and Daniel's colleagues, unofficially shared... Jethro was a Navy friend of Mac's, and Mac had introduced him to Daniel, obviously, which had led to Flynn and Jethro getting to know each other rather well, and, for the most part, rather quietly – Because of Navy Regs. Jethro was actually a Marine.
"Just what I need!" Daniel smiled, rubbing Mac's hand.
"You mean that, don't you?" Mac read and realised.
Daniel nodded..."Might do me some good... After..." He trailed off.
'After we make love'... Mac followed Daniel's trail of thought, and answered him directly, and with actions to match... 'I love you', he also told Daniel, and he smiled when Daniel answered as he knew he would... They fell back on the bed together and began to make that love...

Flynn Carsen sat on the sofa, reading, while Jethro set the table...
"I see my Librarian is happy!" Jethro noted.
Flynn looked up... "I'm gladder than ever that I took this job, and left the Library..." Flynn spoke of the place for which he still worked, but had now become a submarine dwelling field agent..!
"And what was the first thing to make you glad" Jethro pondered aloud.
Flynn put down the book, got off the sofa, and walked over to Jethro, hugging him as he bent over the table... "You know who is the answer to that question..!"
"And what..!" Jethro casually noted, as he reached across the table, feeling Flynn's erection in his fold. It was often this way around... There had been a few times, and they were enjoyable, but Jethro couldn't help but like being 'on top'... It was just in his nature... That didn't mean he was unfair however... "Tonight..." He said. Then, he turned around, holding Flynn warmly in his arms, and kissing him.
"... Before you have to sneak back to your quarters..." Flynn knew it would have to be a reality. He hated this constant separation. He sometimes liked his own space, was used to it, but he hated that he and Jethro never really had the option to spend a full night together...
"I know..." Jethro noted. "But you'll be so tired by the time I have to leave..!" He promised.
"And so will you!" Flynn grinned...
Jethro's body did thrill at that idea. He could never, would never deny it – Deny Flynn the pleasure, or himself. "Neither of us will ever notice we've been apart, when we wake up, and see each other at work tomorrow..!"
Flynn smiled, and initiated another kiss...

"Wait a minute..." Daniel suggested, outside of Flynn and Jethro's room.
Mac noted the way he said it, and smiled... There were no Military around, so he held Daniel's hand for a moment as they stood there... And, let Daniel knock on the door with his other hand for a while... But when Flynn opened the door, Mac had to let Daniel's hand go, out of respect for the Regs by which Jethro had to live, and could not be seen to be openly flouting... Mac knew that people would talk behind Jethro's back if they saw him socialising with friends who were openly gay... It was so wrong, but it was true, and it was unfair, unfair on everyone, including Jethro! Not that Jethro didn't have the balls to face up to the bigots, and the idiocy, but Mac and Daniel both knew they all had to be careful...
"Hi, you two!" Jethro noted, as they walked with with Flynn, and could again hold hands...
"Hiya, buddy!" Mac smiled. "I'm ready for dinner!"
"Moussaka okay for you?" Flynn queried.
"Absolutely!" Mac affirmed.
"Then, sit down to a wonderful dinner..!" Jethro invited them. "Krieg helped source the ingredients, so I don't think there's any reconstituted stuff in there – Ben hates all that stuff, too!"
Mac and Daniel sat next to one another at the table, across from their friends, Flynn and Jethro.
Daniel was right... He knew this time with friends, and the promise of more time with Mac, would help him begin to heal...
