Summary: G Callen thinks about the life of his friends. Then, he and his lover, Sam Hanna, drive off to the beachfront holiday home they share
Info: Characters borrowed from many shows!!
As of now, almost, G and Sam would be driving to their Vancouver beach-house, and some of their friends would be joining them for a couple of days – The lads and lasses from Miami were joining in. Horatio Caine's SG team all originally hailed from Miami; He, Tim ('Speed') Speedle, Ryan, Eric, Calleigh, and Alex would be turning up for a taste of the beachfront to remind them of home – As would Michael Westen, and whom Sam and G were sure was his lover, another Sam, Sam Axe. Their friend and SG colleague, Fiona Glenanne would be tagging along, too. Sam Hanna and G Callen had much in common with Sam Axe and Michael Westen. An undercover specialist and a Navy seal turned Stargate Team member... Also turning up at the Beach House for a while would be Horatio and Tim's friend, Mac Taylor, and his team; Don Flack, Danny Messer, Adam Ross, Sheldon Hawkes, Aidenne Byrne, Stella Bonasera, and the scientists they often worked with, Lindsay Monroe, and Doctor Sid Hammerback... Obviously, not everyone could stay over – The beach house was sizeable, but not big enough to find enough beds for that many – Even if some of them did sleep together behind their closed guest quarter doors – which was none of Sam (Hanna) and G Callen's business – G noted to himself!
As G waited for Sam to finish packing his bags in the car, he watched Jim O'Neill, Daniel Ballard, John Sheppard, and Rodney McKay all chatting, in this , the car park area... G KNEW life wasn't easy for these four friends, and was now ever more complicated because the Government were paranoid about the intentions and purpose of their new 'alien' children. Jim and Daniel's twins were Dario Jameson and Alana Emerence, if G remembered their middle names correctly. McKay and Shepherd were new parents also, to their baby girl, Jemma Opal McSheppard. Even naming the children had not been easy – Didn't want to give anymore fuel to the paranoia of those in charge – But in the end, name meanings and weird initials weren't all important – choosing nice names for these kids were!
G wasn't jealous of these new families – But he was envious – Not just but not least because he hadn't ever been part of a family until he joined the Navy and then, met Sam; and now, he had some new family members through the SGC - But apart from Sam fussing around him like a mother hen, he'd never had parents... He always told Sam off for all the fussing he did. He didn't suppose Sam could help it; Navy Seals existed to protect people! But G always said to him, 'I just need you to be my lover.'... G also worried that he would never be a parent. Part of his brain said it was probably a good idea, what with his job... But still, the other half of his brain wanted to have a family, to offer a kid the family life that he never had... Yeah, he could admit it to himself; he wanted a family with Sam Hanna – His friends were his friends, and he'd never upset or betray them – But that was another reason why he was envious of Jim, Daniel, John and Rodney – They had, kind of been given an exemption to Don't Ask, Don't Tell. It had not been without a fight, a horrendously scary and life changing fight, for the right to be with the one you love, and be allowed to have a family – Things others took for-granted, the world, even the universe, over..! But they had won the fight, G wasn't envious of the fact that they had to go through, and to continue, the fight! There was no doubt their lives were tough, too. He knew that – and there was more than themselves at stake... Yes. It was a tough life, but as he watched the couples, his colleagues, prepare to spend a few days off with their families – G's heart bled a little, even though he didn't want it to...
"You ready to get going?" Sam asked.
G turned to Sam, touching his partner's knee, out of sight of anyone wandering around the car park.
Sam noted G's touch, and smiled gently. "I'll show you a good time this weekend!"
"Me you, too!" G laughed warmly, as he and Sam drove away...
The End
