Summary: Back in the corridors of the Academy Hospital - Take notes on the Doctors who are in Don't Ask, Don't Tell relationships, and the patients who also have to put up with that stupid Regulation!!
Info: Many characters from many shows mentioned - I hope you can recognise them all!!!
Michael Gallant and his partner, Ray Barnett, would be rushing around more than ever today... Some SG teams were coming into the Academy Hospital for their medicals, because Doctor Frasier's team on-Base, were so busy... And, Helen Magnus had just given birth to her son (hers and four other members of SG1's son, that is!) – Doug Ross, Marcus Green, Kerry Weaver, Mark Sloan, and Amanda Bentley, each of them had been there... He'd heard that the child's middle name would be Gregory, apparently after Helen's father, but he knew that everyone was still discussing first names – The plan was for Helen to compile a list, then, the other parents would say which, if any, names they hated, and she would make the choice from those left; those that they didn't hate! Helen had told Ray that yesterday. Names were an odd thing, and there had been a lot of babies being named at the SGC just lately, Michael realised. He'd always been pretty okay with his own name!
Awaiting Medicals were SG6; A team of U.S.A.F members, and people from the Astronaut program, a specialised team for certain missions; The U.S.A.F guys – Michael knew some of them because he'd served with them before they each got invited to work for the The Stargate Program, were Michael's pal, Lt. Henry Fitzroy, a twenty five year old whose entire family were Military. He had army leaders, Naval Adnirals, and multiple star Airforce Generals in his bloodline, yet, of course, in the middle of all this family tradition, so many blood ties to men who dedicated their lives to Military Service, Henry Fitzroy was so unique! Despite how many people worked for the SGC, and had family who did so, not everyone on planet Earth knew about the Stargate Program! On his team were Colonel Mike Celluci, Lt. John-Mark Kelly (introduced to the Stargate Program by Admiral Janeway), Captain Jaordson Doe, and Major Eve Weller, as well as Astronauts and Doctors, Doctor Evram Mintz, field medic, Biologist Jen Crane, Geologist Zoe Barnes, and their fellow Astronauts, pilots Ted Shaw, Maddux Donner, and Ajay Sharma...
Then, there was General James Valentii's team, SG15; himself, Colonel Tom Baldwin, Captain Diana Skouris, Major Jack Carteringam, Dr Henry Deacon, Dr Nathaniel Stark, and Lt. Jo Lupo, also booked in for a Medical.
After that, Michael and quite a few of the other Doctors, Ray included, as well as Jeffrey Geiger and Aaron Schutt, had to attend a meeting with Doctor Nigel Fenway; Doctor Robert Rothman and others of the SG-Academics, were also turning up, for some reason, and Michael knew Helen Magnus wanted a vid-link to that conference, so some tech guys were coming in to make sure everything was set for that...
The schedule didn't sound like much when you said it like that, but Michael knew what these days went like...
All he wanted to do was grab Ray, and take him into a store-room somewhere for leading kisses, the daytime sunshine was making the high temperature even more noticeable, but it was more than both their jobs were worth, and Michael knew his duty, as did Ray. As they stood close, reading charts at the ward station though, both men could keenly feel the heat. Greg (Gregson Pratt, not Gregory Magnus I or II) and the aptly named Tony Gates, were looking at them from a few feet away, where they stood discussing a chart with Dr Archie Morris. He knew they knew – But he knew their secret was safe. Tony and Gregson were a couple, too!
In Bay 1 of the Academy Hospital, Sam Hanna and his partner, G Callan, lay in opposite beds. Laughing with the relief of a successful mission through the Gate, even if it had sent them straight here... Two days ago, they rescued an SG Colleague, Dominic Vail – and, as a result of that rescue mission, they both needed some patching up! Dominic and his pal, whom Sam and G were beginning to think might be romantically together, were in another Bay here at the Academy Hospital. When Aiden Ford and Dominic Vail were well enough, the plan was to meet with them in the Television Room, for a game of cards...
Sam and G had been partners in every way, for a good many years. They met in L.A, through the work they both did for the NCIS. Sam was a Navy Seal; G, an aficionado of Undercover Work. They were assigned as work partners, and soon, very, very discreetly became lovers, under the covers, as the song went, appropriately for them, of course!... They had been together longer than most couples in L.A, at least, the ones they knew of. Even when, briefly gay marriage was made legal, or at all possible for that matter, in L.A, they could not go back to their hometown and marry, because of the Regs – But then, it was made illegal in L.A yet again, and so, the dream of going back there when they retired, to marry, had been taken away from them! It was a disgrace, that L.A, were so bigoted, but both men tried to hope that they could at least marry somewhere else, one day, somehow...
The End
