Jack took Daniel's hand, and took him into the middle of the room.
Daniel followed.
Jack gently pulled Daniel into an embrace.
Daniel froze, but then, melted into Jack's arms almost in an instant.
"Sorry I didn't follow you..." Jack whispered.
"What?" Daniel asked.
"When you asked me, y'know..." Jack said awkwardly, holding Daniel so that he could meet his eyes.
"Ah." Daniel said. "In Ba'al's prison..." He mentioned apologetically.
"I couldn't..." Jack said.
"I know why... Don't worry..." Daniel mentioned.
"You do?" Jack asked, knowing Daniel was still working on his memory.
Daniel rubbed Jack's shoulder as the song played. "I knew then, and I know now..."
"I'm sorry if you're not ready, mourning Sha're again, still... I'm sorry, Daniel..." Jack loosened his grip a little, so Daniel could walk out of the embrace.
"I'm not going anywhere..." Daniel said.
"One day, one of us might need to; we might be asked to go... If we do this, Daniel..." Jack trailed off...
"We'll deal with that when it happens... Besides, it won't necessarily split us up. Ascending didn't, did it?" Daniel pointed out.
Jack smiled affectionately, and hugged Daniel lightly. "Nope. You stayed with me..."
"We'll never really leave each other, Jack..." Daniel said. "I'm sorry about earlier. I want to be in your arms... It's just like, it's like trying to relax enough again, to do everything for the first time; gearing myself up in spite of the Regs, remembering that Sha're actually died a long time ago... There's nothing to feel bad about..."
Jack, again, looked into Daniel's eyes. "If you're not ready, Daniel, even for this, I won't mind... We'll just go back over to the chairs in front of the TV, and enjoy each other's company..."
"We can do that later, can't we?" Daniel asked. "A bit of a slow dance won't hurt..."
"I don't dance for, or with, just anyone, y'know..!" Jack mused. "I just wanted you to know..." He said even more quietly.
"I do... I do, Jack. I do..." Daniel mused, resting his head on Jack's soft shirt, as they swayed while the music played...
