Summary: Jack and Daniel secretly get married...

"That's a nice ring, Daniel..." Sam looked at the platinum band, while Daniel's hand lay on the worktop as they made coffee for everyone... Jack happened to have a new ring, too, but his was different. It was a rose-gold colour. Each man wore the ring on a different finger...

"Thanks." Daniel grinned at her sweetly and genuinely...

"Will you marry me..?" Jack asked, as they sat on the sofa.

Daniel's heart did a somersault. He turned around, perched on the end of the sofa. "What??"

"Will you marry me?" Jack asked. "Just answer on what you want – We'll do the worrying later!"

"Yes." Daniel said; looking into Jack's eyes certainly, voice audible, but hands shaking...

Jack smiled, and kissed Daniel, arms around him, as they fell back on to the sofa...

They looked at each other afterward, and Jack pre-empted Daniel "But we'll get kicked out, blah, blah, blah, right?? Doesn't matter that I'm in Washington now, and you're nearly always halfway across the Galaxy without me..." Jack paused fretfully, at the reminder he hated to think of. "We'll get thrown off the Project, yes?"

"Yes." Daniel replied, as Jack held and rubbed his hands affectionately.

"So, let's not tell anyone..." Jack said. "Not even Sam or T... The less they know; the better for them anyway, if it all Officially craps up..!"

"But the wedding certificate will be on record, Jack... And I don't want to get married under false names, or change my name by deed-poll, all of that's traceable..." Daniel stated knowingly.

"I agree..." Jack mused, tracing Daniel's growing hair around his face, sweeping his hands across the slight stubble on Daniel's chin and cheeks as well...

"You agree with me?" Daniel pondered.

"Yes, I do..!" Jack grinned. "But I still want to marry you... The Regs are dumb anyway, and I'm tired..." He answered honestly. "We don't have to go away on a honeymoon yet... That'd be even more likely to give the game away... Not that it is a game!" Jack knew it wasn't.

"Let's get married then..!" Daniel smiled. He was still concerned about it, but it was what he wanted, too. When Jack's warm lips kissed him again, he melted back into the sofa and tried to have faith...
