Summary: Jack & Daniel have to talk about the planet where the scientists that did this to Daniel, live

Daniel patted his belly, feeling inside him the child he could not name because he did not know the gender, and because, frankly, naming a child was near impossible. They'd chucked out the idea of Keiran for a boy because it meant 'little dark one', Ryan for similar reasons because it meant 'little king',and as Daniel pointed out, the bigwigs, as Jack called them, of the Stargate Program, were already paranoid the baby would be the harbinger of doom..! He tried to push that thought from his mind, and most of the others.

Jack had just told him that there was a mission going ahead to help the people on the planet where the scientists had changed his body so very much, made all this possible without his permission.

Jack still had friends at the SGC. Daniel hoped they both did. That was how he'd found out.

"I don't have to go back, do I, Jack?" Daniel asked. He turned to look at his partner.

Jack walked across the room, hands on his jeaned hips, a gesture he'd picked up from Daniel, back when Daniel could fit into jeans. He then reached out his hand to touch Daniel's chest, touch his heart. "No. You don't."

"They'll see, in the state I am now, and I don't trust myself around them anyway..." Daniel frowned worriedly. "What are they going to do?" Daniel spoke about the team who would be going out there...

"Try to use all they can to help cure the women of that world..." Jack said.

"The scientists probably won't want their help... They've probably eliminated all their women by now!" Daniel paused. "The weak get ignored, used, or eliminated!"

Jack reached out and touched Daniel's elbow. "You're not weak." He said softly, hoping it was the right thing to do.

"Whoever sent our people out there to work with them, they must be getting something from it!" Daniel reasoned. "From those cultures that didn't ignore the men that returned, they've received threats of war! 'We' wouldn't risk that kind of involvement unless we had big things to gain, would we? We've probably got our own freak scientists who just want to see if it's possible! Well, all they have to do is look at me, and see!!" Daniel fumed. "This can't be allowed to happen again, Jack. It wasn't voluntary! And women, we can't let anymore women become un-needed.""

"Daniel," Jack said calmly. "I'll keep watch over it all, I swear!"

"How will you, Jack? You don't even work for them anymore, unless there's something you haven't told me..??" Daniel challenged Jack.

"You know everything I do!" Jack said. "Believe it or not, Daniel, there are some people out there who know what those scientists were doing, is wrong, and they care enough to try and stop it!"

"They could be feeding you a line, Jack, or are you actually out there, fighting that fight for me..?" Daniel asked. "Jack, I'm not sure you should be! I know it's not me to say this! But hell, I'm hardly me anymore, not on some days, but there is such a thing as taking care of your own!"

"I'm everywhere I can be, Daniel. But you know I'm not going on Missions you don't know about. I'm here with you!" Jack told him, replying to Daniel's question.

"Do you regret that?!" Daniel challenged again.

"No damn way, Ever!!" Jack enthused truthfully. He looked into Daniel's eyes, asking permission to pull him, in his fragile state, into a hug...

Daniel leant forward, and let himself be surrounded by Jack's love.
