Daniel sat around the Christmas tree with his friends. It was very casual. He'd thrown on his cream pullover, and wore faded blue jeans...
Sam sat next to him, Teal'c next to her, and Jack was handing out the gifts, on their rare Christmas Day away from the Stargate...
Jack quietly handed Daniel a small gift, and went on to hand other gifts to Sam and Teal'c.
Daniel unwrapped a small box, and opened it, to find a platinum ring... He stared at it for a moment, and carefully looked across at Jack, who was talking to Sam and Teal'c, as Teal'c passed Jack a gift from him, of new Fishing gear... Daniel had helped Teal'c choose, and shop for it...
As Jack looked to Daniel, he noted the look Daniel gave him, and Daniel noted the look in Jack's eyes... It said 'Thank you' again, like the inscription on the ring, and 'I love you'....
Daniel gently took the ring out of the box, and carefully placed it on his finger, hoping he was doing right with the choice of which finger on which he placed it; knowing it would probably be very obvious, but for today, among friends, they could relax a little...
Sam turned back to Daniel, and, after a while, she saw the ring. "That's lovely." She said, genuinely, to Daniel, as he opened another gift, this one from Sam...
"Thanks..." He smiled. "And, thank you..." He said, as he further un-wrapped the paper around her gift, and looked down at a beautiful new journal and notebook, done in the old fashioned Papyrus style, leather bound, too, and joined by a fountain pen personalised with his name...
She smiled. "I'm glad it makes you happy..." She said, finding that she meant every word...
Daniel smiled at her, and gazed over at Jack, who was opening Daniel's gift of a new stereo, and some classical CDs. Jack was dressed in a black polar neck, and black jeans, and, as he looked up at Daniel, the word thank you, and a promise for later on his lips, Daniel found his breath being taken away by the beauty of Jack, the man he loved, and what had already happened between them, this Christmas morning...
